After yesterday's action packed day, today was a more leisurely one. Part of the package from our Grand Canyon tour were some tickets to the IMAX theatre, so we headed off to see this first of all. The screen was huge - about 120ft and the photography was great....Caroline was starting to feel dizzy (apparently this had nothing to do with the sampling of Californian wine last night..).
Then it was off into the South Rim park to take a look at the various views across the Canyon. We decided to take the shuttle bus as this was much easier (and free). The views were as stunning as we hoped they would be and there was very little complaint from the ankle biters.....which has to be a good sign.
This evening Caroline and Chris abandoned the kids, sadly only on a temporary basis ;-) to watch the sunset over the Canyon. Who says I am not a romantic.......answers on a post card.....
Below is a sample picture from this evening but as usual there is more on our Flickr page here

Dear All,
It's lunch time here and the sun is out and it's not so windy thank goodness. I'm off to do a little golf practise as I am doing a medal tomorrow and I want to do well, here's hoping.
I remember when we all went to the IMAX place as Jill felt really bad and had to go out. She said her eyes couldn't take it but I enjoyed it. Perhaps it was the same for Caroline.
Pompey are playing Arsenal away today. No points there I would think. There is a lot of talk about a new consortium being set up with the present bidder to buy Portsmouth.News expected next week.Birmingham was bought by an Arab yesterday. Are you able to watch the Olympics?.Bolt has been great with 2 world records. We are not sure where your next stop is as the map cuts of at the bottom.
Keep up the good news.
Love to all
Mum and Dad
Hi Caroline, will start saving my pennies as I feel you need to show me and Deb the delights of the USA on a girlie shopping trip! I saw an advert for flights from Bournemouth to New York at the weekend - how fab would that be! Obviously you would be our official tour guide :-) Holiday sounds fab and you are packing so much in. We all went to Thorpe Park today for Jessie's birthday treat. Great day but very tired. My eye is getting better and now dont have to wear sunglassed constantly! Emily is off to Jersey tomorrow with the brownies for their annual pack holiday - a week in Jersey sounds lovely but I am sure she will be kept busy keeping the brownies under control. Keep posting your blogs and photos and could I please request that Jack does a report - are you sure you took him on holiday with you - not heard much from him or seen him in many photos!! Look forward to catching up when you get home and miss you, Lisa xxxx
Hi Lisa,
Just arrived at Lake Havasu - a stopover before heading for San Diego tomorrow (long journey.)Boys are in the pool so time for me to send a quick email. Glad your eye is on the mend - its taken a long time - wot exactly did you do to it? It will be nice and peaceful with Ems away...!!!
Jack was a bit camera shy to start with (dont know wot that was all about - teenager stuff!) Now hes coming out of his little shell (ha ha!)and is gracing us with his presence and almost enjoying himself I think, tho he wouldn't admit it!! He threatens to do a blog when we go to L.A and Universal - dont hold your breath!
We are all getting on better than expected! The boys have their moments of niggling at each other and no problem with the 2 big boys - U know wot I mean!!!
The N.Y trip sounds fab and something to work on!!! Speak soon. Lots of love. C xxxx
