Hi Everyone. Well, we arrived in San Diego at 3.15pm on Sunday after a long drive down from the Grand Canyon (5.5 hours). We are very close to the Mexican border and had to pass through a number of border check points on route - luckily we didn't get pulled over...
Caroline and Sam spent the rest of the afternoon at the San Diego Hospital ER unit. Sam had been feeling really low on energy the past couple of days and had been experiencing lower back pain. We were concerned that he might have a kidney infection so wanted to get him checked out properly. Although they had to spend 4 hours at the hospital they did give him the full works - x ray, urine test, kidney ultra sound scan - in fact $1,000 worth! However they found nothing wrong with him....which at least gave us peace of mind (thank God for insurance...). Today Sam has been absolutely fine so perhaps it was just a virus.
So today we have spent the whole time at Seaworld enjoying the various sights and shows. My favourite was the Shamu show - there were two shows...one in the day and then one in the evening. This was followed by a great fireworks display to finish off the evening. The boys really enjoyed it and actually surprised us by taking time to explore the acquariums etc as well as the obvious rides such as 'Journey to Atlantis'.
We also nipped out of Seaworld this evening for an hour or two for a meal at our favourite restaurant called Red Lobster. Jack and I shared a lobster, crab and shrimp dish which was gorgeous. The 4 boys polished this off with apple pie, ice cream and (for William) a large cookie!
Tomorrow we are driving up to L.A. along the coast which will be our final destination :-(

Hi Caroline - good to hear the holiday is going so well. So its not only me that has to go to hospital! Glad to hear Sam is ok but a shame you had to spend 4 hours at the hospital. Nice to see Jack in the photos - particularly with the pink hat. Very quiet in our house as Emily in Jersey with the Brownies- I do miss her though.... Remind Jack that he has to do a blog report before the holiday is over. Enjoy your last few days in the USA - it has gone so quickly. We did the show that you went to and we thought it was great, like Jack in the pink hat, my favourite colour. Didn't know it was his!!!!!!
Weather still very changeable here. Today it has been okay, sunny and a heavy shower this a.m. just as I was leaving to go to golf, but no rain afterwards. Now its 9.15pm and its very windy outside and tomorrow we are supposed to be getting the tail end of the hurricane from A merica, heavy rain and terrible wind. Thats put the damper on the golf as I have a past captains match and dinner which will be delightful if the forecast is correct. Will have to see.
I see Pompey beat Hereford 4 - 1 tonight. It wasn't broadcast but have just seen the results on tne TV.
They've just announced the contestants for the next series of strictly so I will keep Caroline in suspense until she gets home'
Had a text from Sue this evening and it's still boiling hot there and they are still having a brill time.
Is there anything that I can do for your return. Make a pie or a cake or something. Let me know as I'll lonly be too pleased to do it for you.
Haven't anything exciting to report from here. Super hearing all your adventures. Keep writing and your time will fly now. Enjoy the last couple of days in the sun!!!

Hi Lise. O.M.G! I think I,ve died and gone to heaven! After I texted you, we went into A and F! Y haven't we been in there before in Southampton???!!! This half naked man was standing at the entrance and he was LUSH with a capital "L". I had a smile on my face for the rest of the day! We have to take residence outside the shop in S'oton! Anything you want while I'm here (apart from the man... he's mine!!)lots of love. C xxx
