Hi everyone. Just a short post this evening to say we are now at Lone Pine which is our stop over on the way to Death Valley.
We had a good trip here from Yosemite and the temperature has gradually got hotter....about 90c when we arrived. Apparently it is 45c in Death Valley.
There were some funny noises coming from the car breaks on the mountain roads today so I have called the rental car company - we may change the car when we get to Las Vegas.
Lone Pine is an interesting little town - very American.....and in the middle of nowhere! It is situated close to Mount Whitney which is 14500 feet high and still has snow on top even now.
Jack chose our restaurant this evening and we had a great meal. The peanunt butter pudding was amazing so we are going to bed full but very happy tonight.
Poor old Pompey lost their first game of the season.....but at least Scummers lost 3-1...:-)
Tomorrow we are driving to Death Valley so look out for more news.....
